Professor Li Xiangping from Jinan University was a guest at the "Dongjian Forum" of our college

On September 15th, the college held the "Dongjian Forum" report meeting in the 347 Lecture Hall of Area A, Wenlan Building, Changqing Lake Campus. This forum specially invited Professor Li Xiangping from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Jinan University to give an academic report. Xie Deren, the Party Secretary of the college, presented the "Dongjian Forum" trophy to Li Xiangping. The report was hosted by Zhao Lina, the director of the Physics Experiment Center. Nearly a hundred teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students from relevant majors participated in this event.

Professor Li Xiangping delivered a report titled "Multi-dimensional Light Field Control and Application of Artificial Intelligence Structures", focusing on the progress made in multi-dimensional light field control and the interaction mechanism between light and matter at deep subwavelength scales. He elaborated in detail on the development of the full Poincare sphere polarization control device and the electrode-free image multiplexing encryption technology based on non-orthogonal polarization states. And the application of vector metasurfaces in monolithic integrated polarizing cameras. Professor Li Xiangping, based on the cutting-edge background of nano-optics technology, introduced the latest achievements of his team in this field. He pointed out that as the size of devices continues to advance towards the micro-nano scale, the development of high-density integration and large-capacity photonic devices has become a key research direction in the field of photonics. In addition, he also shared the team's innovative work in areas such as enhancing the interaction between light and matter through the non-scattering effect of nanostructures, optical super-resolution imaging, and defect detection technology. After the report, Professor Li had a lively exchange with the teachers and students, patiently answering their questions. The academic atmosphere on the spot was very strong. Today, with the rapid development of photonic technology, the integration of micro-nano light field regulation and artificial intelligence is constantly driving optical research to a deeper level. This report not only broadened the academic horizons of teachers and students, but also further stimulated their interest and enthusiasm for the cutting-edge fields of photonics.

Li Xiangping, a professor, is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the president of the Optical Society of America. For a long time, I have been engaged in research in the fields of nano-optics, metasurface, laser processing and optical storage, and have presided over and participated in more than 10 national and provincial-level scientific research projects. Three monographs have been published. More than 150 SCI papers have been published in international authoritative journals such as Science and Nature Photonics, with a total citation of over 10,000 times and an H-index of 54. Selected as one of the top 2% of global scientists by Elsevier. The research achievements have won honors such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Funding Achievement Award, one of the Top Ten Advances in Chinese Optics, and one of the top ten socially Influential Events in the field of Chinese Optics. He/She is currently a member of the editorial boards of journals such as PhotonIX, Opto-Electronic Advances, Optics Communications and Optoelectronic Engineering.
